Florida Statues Chapter 83
Florida Statutes Chapter 83 are the Florida laws concerning Landlords and Tenants. It is also know as the Florida Tenant Landlord Act.
Florida Statutes Chapter 83 covers everything regarding residential leasing in Florida. We give out a copy to every tenant that leases through us. However, a lot of owners live out of the area and even out of the country. They are unfamiliar with the processes that we must abide by in order to protect the tenants and the landlords rights.
In the statutes you will find everything regarding definitions of tenant and landlord, tenant responsibilities and landlord responsibilities. What are the proper steps to file a complaint for work not being done and whether the tenant has to pay rent and what the owners rights are when the tenant does not comply with the lease.
One of the biggest issues is how to make a claim on a security deposit and the way in which to get a security deposit back.
